We are looking for an experienced Finance & Controlling Manager (m/f/d)

Since 2020, we have been developing highly flexible liquid containment systems for professional businesses to drain, collect and pump out liquids in a controlled way. And it works: our products are used in more than 30 European countries. We are in an intensive phase of growth and restructuring, with revenue of > EUR 2.5 million in 2025 and year-on-year growth of +29%.

Your role:

You take full responsibility for our entire finance and accounting function and develop it strategically. You design a tailor-made controlling concept, implement a KPI dashboard and advise management on all questions of financial strategy. You are fully accountable for clean bookkeeping, steer and monitor automated processes and make sure that everything runs correctly, audit-proof and compliant.

Your tasks:

Accounting & financial responsibility

• Overall responsibility for day-to-day financial accounting (accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger)
• Recording, checking and structured transfer of all financial data and receipts to our tax advisor (DATEV interface)
• Monitoring and quality assurance of AI agent processes for automated receipt capture, OCR-based account assignment and posting suggestions
•  Responsibility for audit-proof, complete and timely bookkeeping
•  Monthly closings and reconciliations

Controlling & KPIs

• Designing and building a complete controlling framework
• Developing and maintaining a management dashboard with the key KPIs (revenue, gross profit, contribution margins, personnel costs, EBIT)
• Introducing a robust budgeting and forecasting process
• Carrying out budget-vs-actual comparisons and variance analyses

Product cost structure & optimisation

• Analysing and optimising the cost structure of our products (materials, shipping/logistics, handling costs)
•  Identifying cost drivers and deriving concrete optimisation measures
• Setting up contribution margin accounting per product and sales channel

Strategic financial advice

• Advising management on investment decisions, growth financing and resource allocation
• Spotting and unlocking opportunities to put existing funds to better use
• Developing scenarios and recommendations for key strategic decisions

What you bring:

Must-have

• Degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a comparable qualification
• At least 3–5 years of professional experience in controlling and/or finance
• Sound knowledge of accounting, balance sheet analysis, P&L evaluation and cost accounting
• Experience with ERP systems and DATEV interfaces (we work with Odoo)
• Strategic and conceptual thinking — building things, not just analysing them
• Openness to AI-supported accounting processes and digital automation

Nice-to-have

• Experience in building controlling structures in growing companies (greenfield)
• Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau) or Excel modelling
• Background in a product business / trading company
• Experience with multi-currency environments (30+ EU countries)
• Experience with automated document processing (OCR, AI-based account assignment)
